Overheard At Dunkin’ Donuts
Austin’s brand new top cop Art Acevedo missed the fun last year when the city had to kick in an estimated $2.5 million to close a gap on the police department’s books. Seems that money seized in federal drug seizures was used to pay salaries and supplement other expenses prohibited under federal rules and regulations.
Word is Mike McDonald, assistant city manager under Toby Futrell, may have gotten $10,000 or more to defray the costs of his master’s degree at St. Ed’s.
