Accenture-ate The Negative

From his well-appointed Austin office, the state’s inspector general is supposed to root out waste and abuse in the Texas health and human services system — well-appointed being the operative term here.

The office’s current occupant, Brian Flood, may be forced out this week by the same man who appointed him back in 2003: Rick Perry.

Seems it’s all about Accenture, the politically connected firm that won a $1 billion state contract to privatize social services — and then botched it so badly they were shown the door. Flood’s report earlier this year blamed Perry’s HHS chief Albert Hawkins and others for the “waste and abuse” in the system.
