Leffingwell v. Brewster: Is That All There Is?
The jockeying for position to run for Austin Mayor in two years would be comical if not for the fact that…. well, come to think of it, it is comical. Lee Leffingwell, no one’s favorite uncle, against Brewster McCracken, everyone’s irritating kid brother.
The most recent clash came over the proposed Water Treatment Plant No. 4, which had targeted the head waters of Bull Creek until Uncle Lee’s substitute resolution last week to delay it for a year. Kid Brother Brewster countered with a proposal to build a smaller plant in a different location altogether.
And the rest of young, dynamic, visionary Austin — the Music Capital of the World — was left humming along with a 1969 hit by Peggy Lee. Are these the best two candidates we can come up with?

I think there are political lifetimes between now and the Mayoral election.
Good for Councilmember McCracken for stealing Leffingwell’s thunder on what was once considered his cournerstone issue. I think this shows that McCracken is growing up!

I think they are both clowns, but yeah, I can see why you would think mcbrewester is growing up, or at least a pair.

Hilarious. The Music Capital of the World finally has a new theme song… and it’s a 40-year-old hit! By Peggy Lee! Get a rope….
