What Light
This is a political blog, not Perez Hilton. But, sometimes in this fair city politics and entertainment collide. Friday Night Lights is an hour long weekly drama on NBC and is filmed almost entirely here in Austin with a large contingent of locals on the crew.
Last year the production threatened to pick up and move to New Mexico because higher ups at NBC needed to slash the show’s budget and NM was offering some enticing incentives. It was a close call, but Austin and state leaders worked together and actually did something productive. The show stayed and season two begins in October.
We think Friday Night Lights is quality television worthy of being produced here in Austin. The second season opener is available a couple of weeks early right now by clicking here.
