The Fix Is In

At 6pm on Thursday, October 11th, the City Council will decide whether to rebuild the animal shelter downtown or move it to a lot near Airport Boulevard and East 7th Street. This is becoming a bigger issue than many expected, with neighborhood groups rallying against an increasingly deaf city council.

FixAustin has the details if this is the issue that makes your milk rise.

  2. These bozos have let this issue get so out of hand it is not funny. They try their best to act like the Bushies in Washington by arranging everything behind the scenes but they are just not that good.

  3. Ummm…so am I missing something? Didn’t we just approve Proposition 7 to pay for a new animal shelter?

  4. Anyone know who is behind this organization and who is paying for the huge ads in the statesman?

  5. FixAustin paid for the ads. A group of dedicated citizens to end the suffering of homeless pets is working behind the scenes with 7000 signitures under their belt. Austin needs to become kill free. We are still killing 58% of the intake at the TLAC shelter, that is horrific. Other large cities our size are kill free. Austin did vote on the bond of building a new shelter but not on the location. Data shows that a centralized location would be better for adoptions and volunteers to reach the shelter. Location, location, location….
