Austin Moves A Little Further To The Middle

The Man has a little diddy today asking where in the world the middle of town is these days.  It is interesting for about 1/3rd of the page, and then devolves into folks telling us about how it didn’t used to be this way.

Warning: Spoilers after the jump…

The geographic center is at Mopac and 35th.  The population center moves it to Northcross Mall the new Wal-Mart.

  2. another interesting question is where is the political center as we increasingly annex more and more of the suburbs (now into Willco!). Pretty soon Republicans won’t have to pretend to be Democrats to get elected at-large. Oh, and I think every third word out of Mayor Wynn’s mouth is “judicious”.
