UT 1, Princeton 0
When Princeton graduate Jennifer Kim opposed the University of Texas’s proposed development of prime Austin real estate, she apparently forgot that her opponent, Randi Shade, is a former UT student body president.
Kim had introduced a non-binding resolution to signal the City Council’s opposition to what some suspect is the UT Board of Regents’ plan to sell the the Lions Municipal Golf Course and student housing located in the so-called Brackenridge tract to developers. The city has expressed interest in buying the Lions links.
Showing an appreciation for the obvious, Shade attacked Kim’s proposed resolution as a “campaign PR stunt.” Then, displaying an even greater sense of the absurd, Shade suggested the city engage in “good faith” negotiations with UT.
Austin city manager Toby Futrell wrote a fawning letter to the regents, and even state senator Kirk Watson got into the act, meeting with Kim to assure her of UT’s benevolence in the matter. Oh, great.
In the end, Kim withdrew the resolution and UT got what it wanted. Whatever that is.

Hard to choose between the flighty Ms. Kim and the UT pandering Ms. Shade. Maybe someone else will run?

It is just a guess, but what I would say UT wants is world domination, nothing less.
