He Ain´t Gonna Pork Her, Rusty

Ok, maybe he is.

It looks like Brian Thompson is going to make it official.  Here is his “I am going to announce” anouncement.  Isn´t it exciting?

Join Us for an Exciting Announcement

Tuesday, December 18, at 6:30
Vivo’s Restaurant in East Austin
2015 Manor Road

After an outpouring of encouragement from friends, activists, and East Austin community leaders, I filed paperwork to begin exploring a potential run for State Representative in HD 46 (East Austin).  In one short week our grassroots campaign has already raised more than $6500 online.  Obviously, our community is appalled by the incumbent’s endorsement of Republican Speaker Tom Craddick’s failed ideology of starving public schools and denying children health care.

On Tuesday, December 18, I will make an announcement regarding my intentions for House District 46.  We sincerely hope you can join us for this big event.  We will be in East Austin at Vivo’s Restaurant on Manor Road at 6:30.  If for some reason you are unable to attend, I hope you will still make a donation to bring real representation to East Austin families. No contribution is too small.

It’s going to take a real grassroots effort to defeat a Craddick Democrat who is funded by the largest Republican donor in Texas (Bob “Swift Boat” Perry) and a Republican PAC run by Republican Speaker Craddick’s very own spokesperson.  As each day passes, and more of you join the campaign, I become more and more convinced that together, we can reclaim a vote and a voice at the State Capitol from Tom “Absolute Power” Craddick.

I have truly been inspired by the enthusiasm and support I have received from the dozens of East Austin activists and community leaders who continue to encourage me to run for State Representative.  Their message has been uniform and resolute; our East Austin families are being left out of our city’s prosperity at the same time the incumbent is supporting Tom Craddick’s failed Republican ideology of starving public schools and denying children health care.  Like a typical politician, the incumbent seems to have forgotten who she represents.

If I am lucky enough to have the honor of being elected to serve the good people of East Austin, I will never forget the people who I represent.

I hope you will join us next Tuesday, December 18, at 6:30 at Vivo’s in East Austin. If you can’t attend, but want to join our campaign for change, please donate today!

I hope to see you next week,
Brian Thompson
