A Thorn in Rose’s Side
Kyle Mayor Mike Gonzalez is reportedly planning to file as a Republican against State Representative Patrick Rose, the Dripping Springs Democrat whose on-again, off-again membership on Tom Craddick’s leadership team may have flip-flopped one time too many for the Republican House Speaker to keep track.
Gonzalez is a 30-something native of Eagle Pass who moved to San Marcos to attend Southwest Texas State and was elected mayor of nearby Kyle in 2005. His term ends next year — just in time, he hopes, to make it to the Capitol to vote for Craddick. Which may or may not differentiate him from Rose.

Indeed, the Mayor of such a big population center is a truly fearsome prospect. Is this the best Sharp could do?

If Rose depends on his usual gang of indicted campaign helpers and drunk political consultants to win, the mayor “of such a big population center” may have a very good chance of winning.

Did his”campaign helper” ever get indicted? I never heard anything else about it. Which one of his consultants is a drunk? I thought all consultants had some sort of addiction!
