Inquiring Minds Get Their Answer… Sort Of
“I know a lot of people are wondering if I’m going to be [a] candidate,” Jason Meeker says in this morning’s The Man. “I might be.”
Meeker, a spokesman for the RG4N group still fighting a planned Wal-Mart Supercenter at Northcross Mall, has been weighing a race against Austin City Councilman Uncle Lee Leffingwell for months.
Meanwhile, Allen Demling, who describes himself as “a true Austin original and an iconoclastic new face in the colorful history of Texas politics,” has launched his campaign for the Place 1 seat. And Ryan Clinton, a leader of the group opposed to moving the city’s animal shelter, is still dropping hints that he’ll run.

Exactly where is this clamoring for Meeker to run coming from? RG4N? They just lost. The same old enviros who keep arguing about the same old things? If Meeker thinks “a lot of people are wondering” about him, he might want to start getting out more.

There’s a better answer in the chron. Apparently, Meeker’s been busy with RG4N and also trying to find a good campaign manager. The statesman article says he wanted the news to be about RG4N’s thunder and not his campaign. He knows when to pick his battles. Sure hope he jumps into the race soon. Not sure about Demling or Clinton.

Meeker’s Hamlet act has become excessively annoying. Fish or cut bait, dude. At least Allen Demling was able to make a freakin’ decision.

As someone said over on the Chron blog, Meeker must think he’s Mario Cuomo or something.

So Mr. Clinton works for Republican Attorney General Greg “I Got Mine, You Gets Yours” Abbott?
