Yudof To Take California Job, But Will Kay Bailey Hutchison Replace Him? (Updated)
UT Chancellor Mark Yudof told state leaders this week that he will accept the top job at the University of California, and Gov. Rick Perry has authorized UT officials to offer the soon-to-be-vacant post to U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.
If Hutchison accepts, it will trigger a special election to fill her Senate slot. Republicans expected to take a serious look at the race include Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, former Secretary of State Roger Williams — and Perry, who could appoint himself.
We got an email from Hutchison’s office telling us she doesn’t want the job. Full text after the jump-
Hutchison Press Secretary Matt Mackowiak said, “Sen. Hutchison will not be a candidate for Chancellor; she is focused on serving Texas in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Hutchison believes Chancellor Yudof has done an oustanding job as Chancellor of the UT System and wishes him well.”

How can Rick Perry the Aggie tell UT what to do and who they should hire to replace Yudof? These Republicans who are running our state are out of control.

Former Rep Glen Maxey would do for UT what Yudof never could. Maxey is a true leader!
Therefore, Maxey should replace outgoing Yudof.
