What Will DA Campaign Reports Say?
Campaign reports are due Monday in the second round of the Travis County DA’s race, and political observers are waiting to see if the candidates will come clean in reporting who they’ve taken money from — and in one case, given money to.
Under fire for heavy support from lobbyists close to House Speaker Tom Craddick, Mindy Montford accused her opponent, Rosemary Lehmberg, of being bankrolled by the criminal defense bar during a debate at UT on Wednesday. Lehmberg, who hasn’t raised as much as Montford, returned the volley with allegations about Montford’s Republican support.
Speaking of elephants in the room, is Montford’s new consultant, Mark Littlefield (who worked for WalMart in the Northcross Mall controversy and was fired by State Rep. Patrick Rose after being accused of election fraud in a Hays County petition drive) being paid on the books or under the table?

The accusation about Mark Littlefield is false. This is a scam by someone very close to the Rose campaign to try and smear Mr. Littlefield even though he is innocent.

El Jefe, you must be a terrible lawyer. Any decent lawyer - no I take that back - even an idiot would know that you have to have support to back up any claim. Do you have any? No. Mr. Littlefied was never charged…with anything…ever, as Papa claimed. The only thing you can say is that he was under investigation. Maybe you should rethink your profession.

I think it is Mr. Littlefield who needs to rethink his profession. I predict the courts will soon make the same suggestion.

Show me a political consultant who has never been dragged through the mud, under investigation, or otherwise accused and I will show you a crappy consultant!
Are you saying that this guy is untalented? No, you are saying that he has been investigated for something 2 years ago. Some of you have too much time on your hands!
I would even suspect that some of you are afraid of Mr. L - so much so that you are desperately grasping at unverified claims and accusations from over 2 years ago…
