First Day of DA Runoff Brings Out GOP Voters

According to an analysis of Monday’s early vote in the Travis County District Attorney’s Democratic runoff, 21.1 percent of those who cast ballots had a history of voting in previous Republican primaries.

If the trend continues, persistent rumors that one of the candidates is making a concerted effort to attract Republican support may be judged a success.

  2. Does that mean one past vote in a R primary? Because I have a history of voting in both D and R primaries (different years, of course), and of skipping both to participate in 3rd party conventions and candidate petitioning.

  3. It’s sad to see further proof that party purity counts more than character for some Travis County Ds. Isn’t that the very same thing they accuse DeLay, etc., of? Placing party above all else?

This kind of negative smearing is why I no longer have a political home in either party — I couldn’t sleep at night knowing that I was surrounded by rats, snakes, and vultures. And if you think one “house” is any different than the other, you are fooling yourself.

Based on their conduct in this campaign, Montford gets my vote.
