Yesterday we told you about the nascent organization that sprouted up in hopes of getting more accountability out of developers in the North Loop Area.
They had their first victory last night. They managed a skin of their teeth upset against the same developers that built THE DOMAIN.

While Austin taxpayers dig deep to fund a Pennsylvania firm’s search for her replacement, City Manager Toby Futrell turns 53 today. The $240,600 per year manager has announced that she is leaving by next May — sooner, if certain council members have their way.
Ms Futrell will surely be honored ...

Driftwood, Texas for starters.
Patrick Rose bought 1,500 barbecue dinners for his fundraiser at the Salt Lick this weekend and told the local newspaper that he had fallen one-third short of that goal when only 1,000 supporters attended.
It turns out that only 312 dinners were actually served.

Speaking of the homeless, soon-to-be-single councilman Brewster McCracken is telling folks he has the support to close the controversial Austin City Store, which has lost more than $100,000 during its first year of operations and needs that much more to stay in business, according to the proposed new budget.
