Thanks to the blossoming North Loop debate we seem to be hosting, we were pointed to another fight a little further South. Local developer CW Capitol Partners put up a fake grassroots (AstroTurf) website to promote their proposed development along Town LadyBird Lake.

Old West Austin was ranked in the top 10 neighborhoods in the country. We don't recall how many Wal-Marts or 250+ unit apartment complexes, or VMU projects City Hall allowed out there, but we are sure there must be a few if they won such a prestigious award.

Yesterday we told you about the nascent organization that sprouted up in hopes of getting more accountability out of developers in the North Loop Area.
They had their first victory last night. They managed a skin of their teeth upset against the same developers that built THE DOMAIN.

A new website and neighborhood effort has been sparked by a proposed new development in the North Loop neighborhood.
We especially liked the argument presented in this post.

A new group has formed to address the attempts to move the Town Lake Animal Shelter. Fix Austin seems to want the shelter to stay where it is.

Lackluster Lee Leffingwell told reporters earlier this week that he wants to “tweak” the city’s economic development policies to make them more transparent when handing out tax breaks to existing businesses or those who promise to relocate here. Congrats to RG4N on achieving a temporary slowdown to the Northcross Walmart! KXAN reports that Lincoln properties will halt demolition and and tree removal at least until the trial begins on November 13. A small victory, but a victory nonetheless.
